If you have ever suffered the pain and accompanying symptoms of a migraine headache, you know it can not only be frustrating, but may interfere with your day-to-day life. Until the 1980s, scientists believed that migraines were due to changes in blood vessels within the brain, but today most believe the attack begins in the brain itself, and involves various nerve pathways and chemicals. However, a new hand-held magnetic device has been shown effective in interrupting the process in some patients and thwarting the pain of a migraine before it has a chance to begin.
